Robotic Hand!

In science we just built a robotic hand! We used it to pick up things like a paper cup and ping-pong ball. The steps we went through were difficult. Step #1 cut out a cardboard palm. Step #2 cup out three fingers (five if you want).Step #3 hinge the fingers by cutting them into three equal parts. Step #4
cut three (or five) rubber bands 5cm long. Step #5 tape the rubber bands into the inside of each finger.
Repeat steps 3 through 5 until you have this:

When you have that tape the fingers onto the palm. Step #5 take a straw and cut it into 9 equal pieces. Then you tape three straws into the inside fingers (make sure to keep the holes open).Next put string through the holes and tape the end string at the end of the fingers down. Pull the string and the fingers move!!!

If their was one thing I would change is that we could make every thing out of plastic. One part that was frustrating is that sometimes no one would listen. Scientist use models to look at when constructing the real thing.
